THE FIRST SPECIALIZED PROFESSIONAL DISCUSSION ON CRYO TECHNOLOGY MARKS BASIC BENEFITS FOR PATIENTS WITH ELECTROPHYSIOLOGICAL PATHOLOGY

Prof. Boris Schmidt, a leading German electrophysiologist, was a special lecturer at the event

Electrophysiologists and cardiologists gathered at a workshop where they discussed challenging questions about the treatment of persistent atrial fibrillation (AF) using CRYO technology. Various clinical cases from the practice of leading European electrophysiologists and recent studies on invasive cryoablation have been the main subject of discussion.

Among the speakers at the event were:

Prof. Ivo Petrov: Medical Director at Acibadem City Clinic Cardiovascular Center and National Cardiology Consultant.

Endovascular treatment applied by Prof. Petrov in children with life-threatening aortic dissection is among the contributions of global significance (implantation of internal prosthesis and open stents centering the blood flow). For the first time in the world, he also conducted complete endovascular treatment for the A-type aortic dissection, by implanting a blood-flow modulating stent. This contribution to medicine is the subject of publication in the world-recognized JACC, Journal of Cardiology.

Prof. Lazar Angelkov: Chief Consultant at the Dept. of Electrophysiology, Acibadem City Clinic Cardiovascular Center

Prof. Angelkov is a leading European electrophysiologist, highly qualified in the field of electrophysiology and cardiac stimulation. He applies non-conventional methods to treat even the most severe cardiac arrhythmias. In the past week, he conducted the first invasive cryoablation in the country.

Prof. Boris Schmidt: Electrophysiologist at Cardiovascular Center Bethanien, Frankfurt, Germany. Specialized in Hamburg, a DAAD scholarship at Tulane Medical School, New Orleans, USA. He has rich experience in cryoablations, including innovative contributions in the field.
