At an official ceremony, the deal on creating the largest group of medical establishments, which will have a leading market position in Bulgaria, was finalized today. AcibademSağlık Hizmetleri ve Ticaret A.Ş. together with its subsidiary in Macedonia - AcibademSistina Hospital, acquired Tokuda Hospital in Bulgaria and its subsidiaries and merged with the leading healthcare chain City Clinic. The new health structure is called Acibadem City Clinic.

The deal was signed personally by Mr. Mehmet Ali Aydinlar, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Executive Director of Acibadem, Chairman of the Board of Acibadem City Clinic, Mr. Ilian Grigorov, Executive Director of Acibadem City Clinic, Mr. Angel Angelov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Acibadem City Clinic and Mr. Arthur Stern, a representative of Dr. Toro Tokuda. The new CEO is Mr. Ilian Grigorov.

The new healthcare group will offer unique technologies and medical services to Bulgaria, and is forecasted that the new chain will attract people from abroad, Russia and the Middle East. The investment intentions of Acibadem City Clinic are the opening of a new hospital in Varna and the expansion of the existing one in Burgas.

Mr. Mehmet Ali Aydnilar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Acibadem City Clinic, said:

"This year, Acibadem celebrates its 25th anniversary. Our health services are in line with all world standards. Bulgaria is the third country in the world for us, where we enter the market with health services. The other two are Iraq and Macedonia. We make an investment that is fully in line with our development and growth strategy. We intend to continue our business so that we can be proud of everything we do. "

Mr. Ilian Grigorov, Executive Director of Acibadem City Clinic, commented:

"Acibadem comes with the spirit of integrating clinical activity, education in the face of Acibadem University, science, research into basic science, so that's all that a group like Tokuda, City Clinic needs, in order to successfuly develop in the next 10-15 years. Our desire is to preserve what is in Tokuda and City Clinic and to develop it so that the Bulgarian population and Bulgarian patients have access to the highest quality service they can get both in Bulgaria and abroad. The very fact that Acibadem works with 18 hospitals and the volume they achieve provides services that, even for a country like Bulgaria, are unique and in many cases Bulgarian patients do not have access to them.

Our desire is to integrate the full ranks of healing activity - from screening diagnostics, hospital treatment, treatment of chronic diseases in absolutely all aspects and what we can not achieve it in Bulgaria, I hope we can achieve with our partners from Acibadem in Turkey."

Mr. Angel Angelov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Adibadem City Clinic, said:

"The new group is becoming the largest healthcare organisation in Bulgaria, infusing it with Tokuda, who is a ten-year-old legend in Bulgaria with City Clinic, who in only four years, but managed to build tremendous confidence in its patients and a very good name. We are extremely happy that we will be able to provide our patients with the full range of healthcare services from now on, and we have previously covered certain specialties. Of that, of course, we expect to largely stop the flow of Bulgarian patients outside Bulgaria. Moreover, we hope we will be able to develop the so-called "health tourism", where a number of countries in the world are doing very well, one of which is Turkey. "
